Halal is custody, not a single moment.
Rizq Meats operates a documented halal custody chain: the slaughter rite, the certificate, the veterinary clearance and the buyer’s right to reject at the dock are each recorded against a lot number rather than against a shipment.
The rite
Every animal Rizq Meats ships is slaughtered by hand, by a Muslim slaughterman, facing the qibla, with the name pronounced over each animal individually. Mechanical slaughter is not used, and stunning practice is declared on the certificate rather than left unstated.
Custody
Rizq Meats keeps halal and non-halal product in separate facilities, not separate shifts. The chiller, the packing line, the container and the cold store handle halal product only, and the certificate covers custody, not only the moment of slaughter.
Traceability
Every carton Rizq Meats delivers carries a lot number that resolves to a slaughter date, an establishment number, a halal certificate, a veterinary certificate and a temperature log. A buyer can ask for any of the five against any carton and receive it.
The dock
A Rizq Meats delivery is checked at the buyer’s dock before it is accepted: seal intact, temperature read and signed, cut specification and weight band matched against the delivery note. A load that fails any of these is rejected there and credited in full.
The certificate answers to a lot number, not a shipment.
The halal certificate for product supplied by Rizq Meats is issued by a named certifying body, against the lot number. That is the practical difference: a shipment-level certificate tells a buyer that something was certified, and a lot-level certificate tells a buyer that this carton was.

- What species do you supply, and how is mutton defined?
- Rizq Meats supplies beef, mutton and lamb, all chilled and all halal. Mutton is sheep meat from an animal over twelve months old; lamb is under twelve months. The distinction is declared on the delivery note for every load, because it is the specification most often blurred in this trade.
- Chilled or frozen, and at what temperature?
- Rizq Meats supplies chilled meat only and does not freeze product at any stage. Product is held within a declared temperature band from the chiller at the abattoir to the customer dock, and a data logger records the temperature for the whole journey.
- Who certifies the halal chain?
- The halal certificate for product supplied by Rizq Meats is issued by a named certifying body against the lot number, covering the slaughter rite, the slaughterman, and custody of the product to the sealed container. The certificate for any delivery is available on request.
- What happens if a delivery fails specification at the dock?
- The buyer rejects it at the dock. Rizq Meats collects the load and credits it in full, and the buyer pays nothing to return product that failed specification. Rejection grounds are arrival temperature, cut specification, weight band, age declaration, and packaging integrity.
